Overcoming Window Challenges in Greenville, PA: A Story of Energy Efficiency and Comfort

<< Back to MVP Home Improvements Blog Home

Understanding Window Challenges

Greenville, Pennsylvania homeowners often face issues related to window inefficiencies, which can manifest as drafts, condensation, and even excess noise from outside. These problems not only affect the comfort of the home but can also increase energy costs significantly. Old, inefficient windows can lead to heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer, causing the HVAC system to work overtime. This can lead to exorbitantly high energy bills, a problem most homeowners would like to avoid.

Additionally, Greenville, with its characteristic seasonal changes, demands windows that can withstand the elements, from the summer heat to the winter chill. Many windows are not built to handle these extremes and can warp, crack, or become less effective over time. This further exacerbates issues of energy inefficiency and discomfort inside the home.

MVP Home Improvements to the Rescue

With MVP Home Improvements, however, these challenges can be a thing of the past. We recently completed the installation of 13 Polaris windows for a Greenville homeowner. The Polaris window systems are renowned for their superior performance, durability, and energy efficiency.

Each of the 13 windows we installed comes with Low E (low-emissivity) glass. This is a type of treated glass that reflects heat, helping to keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Low E glass can cut down on the energy lost through windows by a staggering 30-50%, directly addressing the problem of energy inefficiency.

Addressing the Window Challenges with Advanced Window Solutions

The Polaris windows also come with argon gas fill. Argon gas is a noble gas that is non-toxic, odorless, and colorless. It is used in window manufacturing to fill the space between the glass panes, increasing thermal efficiency. This denser gas provides a higher level of insulation than regular air, reducing heat transfer and helping to keep the home at a comfortable temperature, regardless of the season.

Our Polaris windows are also double-paned, meaning they have two sheets of glass with a space in between. Double-pane windows are much more energy-efficient than single-pane ones. They also do a great job at reducing noise pollution from outside, contributing to a quieter and more peaceful home environment.

Lastly, we included full screens with the windows. Screens offer a host of benefits, from keeping insects out when the windows are open, to protecting against debris during storms, all while allowing fresh air and natural light into the home.
